Refund & Cancellation Policy

Refunds and
cancellations

Two different things, so we keep them apart: getting money back on a payment already made, and stopping future renewal charges. Both are explained below.

Last updated: 22 August 2026

First, the short version

The rule in one line

Before we start building, you can cancel for a full refund. Once building has started, the build fee is not refundable.

A website is custom work. Once our team begins — design, content writing, domain registration, hosting setup — that effort and that cost cannot be recovered. So we give you a clean window to change your mind before any of it happens, and we are straight with you about what comes after.

Separately from refunds: you can cancel your annual subscription at any time to stop all future charges. That is always available, and it is explained in section 4.

  • 1

    Cancel before we start

Paid but changed your mind before our team begins building? Tell us and you get a full refund.

  • 2

    You see the draft first

Nothing goes live without your go-ahead, and your plan includes a set number of changes.

  • 3

    Cancel renewals anytime

One WhatsApp message stops all future annual charges. No call centre, no retention script.

1. Cancel before work starts — full refund

If you have paid but our team has not yet begun building your site, tell us and we refund the payment in full. No reason needed and no deduction.

  • How to ask: message us on WhatsApp at +91 72300 43008 or email hello@thesitehome.in. Say you want to cancel before build.
  • When work is treated as started: when we tell you we have begun, or when the domain is registered, whichever comes first. We confirm the start on WhatsApp, so there is a timestamp you can point to.
  • If it is unclear whether work had started, we treat it in your favour and refund.

2. After work starts — build fee is non-refundable

Once building has begun, the build portion of your payment is not refundable. Instead of a refund we fix the work: you see the draft before launch, nothing goes live without your approval, and your plan includes a set number of changes.

  • You do not like the draft or the design — we change it; we do not refund it.
  • You changed your mind, your business plans changed, or you had it built elsewhere — no refund.
  • The project stalled because information, photos or feedback did not arrive from you — no refund.
  • Domain, hosting and SSL costs are not refundable once incurred — they are paid out to third parties immediately.
  • We do not guarantee Google rankings, sales or enquiries, so no refund can be claimed on those grounds.

Where we do refund after starting: if the failure is ours. If your information arrived on time and we still run more than 30 days past your plan's stated delivery time, we refund the part of the work not delivered, less any domain and hosting cost already paid out. Duplicate payments and incorrect charges are refunded in full, always.

3. Your auto-renewing annual subscription

Paid plans are annual subscriptions that renew automatically until you cancel. Before you pay, we show you the amount, and here is exactly what renews:

  • Standard — ₹3,999 + GST for the first year, then ₹3,999 + GST every year.
  • Basic — ₹5,999 + GST for the first year, then ₹4,999 + GST every year.
  • Business — ₹11,999 + GST for the first year, then ₹5,999 + GST every year.
  • Expert — quoted per project; renewal terms are set out in your quotation.
  • Starter (free tier) — free for the first year, then ₹2,499 + GST per year. This one does not auto-debit: we ask you on WhatsApp at year end and nothing is charged unless you say yes.
  • It renews once a year on the anniversary of your first payment, at the renewal amount above plus 18% GST.
  • You are notified before every renewal charge. In line with RBI e-mandate rules for recurring payments, you receive a pre-debit notification before the amount is taken, with the amount and the date, in time to cancel if you want to.
  • You can cancel at any time to stop the next and all future charges — see section 4.
  • A GST invoice is issued on every renewal payment.
  • If a renewal fails or is not paid, the site, domain and hosting stop after a grace period and the site goes offline. We warn you before that happens.

4. Cancelling future renewals

Cancelling is meant to be easy, and we will not make you argue for it. One message is enough. You do not have to give a reason, and we will not put you through a retention script.

We acknowledge cancellation requests within one working day and confirm in writing once the auto-renewal is switched off. If you cancel and the next charge still goes through because of a processing delay, we refund that charge in full. You may also be able to cancel the mandate from your own bank or card app, and we will honour that too.

Cancelling stops future charges. It does not refund the current year or any past year, and your site stays live until the end of the period you have already paid for.

5. How refunds are paid

  • Refunds go back to the original payment method through Razorpay. We cannot redirect a refund to a different account.
  • We initiate an approved refund within 3 working days of approving it. It then typically reaches your account within 5–10 working days, depending on your bank or card issuer — that last stretch is not in our hands.
  • A GST credit note is issued with every refund.
  • Add-ons (extra pages, logo design, advanced SEO, AI chatbot, WhatsApp AI agent) follow the same rule as the build: refundable before work starts, not after.

Something wrong?
talk to us first

We would much rather fix the work than argue about a refund. Message us on WhatsApp with what feels off — we reply within one working day. If you are still not satisfied, write to hello@thesitehome.in and it goes to a person, not a queue. Codage Habitation LLP, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
